Breakfast with Santa

DSC00933.JPG

We went to our annual Breakfast with Santa at Chapelle this morning. It was fun. The boys enjoyed it. They made reindeer food and ornaments again. We set up our Christmas tree and decorations last night. Both boys are really getting into the traditions we started when they were babies. They love looking at their ornaments. I give them each a new ornament every year. We have an Advent calendar and they've already got a system down to remember whose turn it is to put the ornament on the tree. We also watched "It's a Wonderful Life" with the boys last night. Neither had ever seen it. Jacob fell asleep but Jackson watched and enjoyed it. This morning when we woke up, the boys were watching it again! I love this time of year. I love it even more now because the boys are enjoying and appreciating the things I enjoy & appreciate. Jackson asked me if we were going to see The Nutcracker this year. We didn't see it last year because of Katrina, it wasn't playing here. We'll definitely go this year. I love the music. Wishing you a stress-free and joyful Christmas season!

Samuel doesn't look all that happy.

Nice picture. I meant to say that in the first comment.

He wasn't too happy. He was a little scared this year. I thought the photographer was ready when I put him on Santa's lap and backed away. I was wrong. The photographer still had to get my name and ID card so Samuel had to sit there a few seconds longer than he should have. I had to bite my tongue to keep from shouting at the guy, "snap the picture, snap the picture already!"

I loved the picture. I have a Santa picture of you and your sister with one crying and one sleeping. And look how perfect the two J's look to complete the happy picture. Christina, the Nutcracker is being performed at the Kenner theater too. You might want to consider that.

I love the picture. My people are so deprived. I am so lazy! It seemed way too hard to come across the bridge to be with y'all for the breakfast. My church, which is only five minutes away, had a breakfast with Santa this year. Feeling a little ashamed, I didn't register for it, either. It really just seems too hard........not fun for me!
We did, however, spend the evening decorating the Xmas tree and listening to Xmas music. Also as a family, we watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. All but Polly had seen Rudolph, but none (including Scott) had seen Frosty the Snowman before. Frosty is my all time favorite---possibly because it is about 18 minutes without commercials. Of course, there are no commercials because we have the DVD. Rudolph is still fun, but also boring in spots. Mary Catherine (and really I am, too) is appalled at how insensitive Santa is portrayed. Very definitley, politcally incorrect.

You're okay, Elizabeth. You can use this entry in a blog 50 years from now, "On this day . . . " and everyone will know you were a perfect mother, which I know today that you really are.

What a great picture. Since when does a little boy crying hurt a Santa picture? It seems that in all of our X-mas pictures when we were younger, somebody was wailing. That's perfectly natural. Luke is moosh. And Jackson and Jacob should get extra sugarplums in their stockings.
