I had to check them out just now to see if they had edited that page. It was fixed and said last updated: 3 minutes ago. That took them some time because you checked this at 11:02 am and it is now 3:22pm. I couldn't have that job though. When I worked at St. Paul's Episcopal school we had to have every memo or letter that we sent home to the parents proofread by two official "proofers." I had never worked in such a professional school. My principal in the public school I worked in would send out letters to the parents that had so many typos, nothing grammatically incorrect just lots of typos. At St. Paul's any and all correspondence to parents by everyone in the school had to be proofed twice. The proofer had to put his/her initials on the back of the original and then it was filed away. It was a good system, but I'm sorry to say that no matter how well I thought I proofed my writing myself I always had something wrong with it.
Some typos and spelling errors are forgivable ... unless you do this professionally. This was unprofessional. To their credit, they caught it and fixed it.
I heard there was a mistake about the 2007 date when news announced Art Buchwald's death as Jan. ___ 2006. It was noticed and changed by the middle of the segment.
I wanted to be a professional proof-reader last year, and when I googled it, I found beaucoup sites of professional proofers, most with degrees in English or something. I gave up that idea. I'd be good at it, but maybe not so good at getting paid for it. (Not that I don't make mistakes, mind you.)
Okay. Janine gets her comment published twice. I made a comment that was not published once. What's that about?
What I said was: I don't see the error. What was it? (That's the short version. I don't want to put too much into it, just in case it is also unpublishable.)
Hit your "Refresh", "Reload", or "Back" button if you get an error until I figure out what this problem is and correct it. If it duplicates, I'll fix it. Would rather hear from you twice than not at all. :)
Are you telling me I study your writings to see if there are errors? Not true. If I were, my computer would combust because I'd be writing all day.
I just said that to see if you really read my comments. Your writing is thoughtful and thought-provoking and certainly error-free. I enjoy reading what you write and often think I should point you out to The Times-Picayune, especially your sports essays. Excellent.
I tried to delete the comment when it posted a second time, but couldn't for some reason. I've been able to in the past. It told me there was an error, so hit the back key and there it was. I previewed it and posted it from there, and then it showed up twice. Just one of those things...
Looks like they corrected it.

Contrack? And I know why you didn't notice it. It was because it wasn't mine ... :)

But what do I know? I'm only a mother.

I don't necessarily think you look for them but there was a time you liked pointing out my typos and verbal misuses ... and I was kidding.
Don't worry too much about duplicates, Janine. I can remove those with ease.
