Lift a glass of green beer or a shot of Irish whiskey. Have some shepherd’s pie. Everyone is Irish today.
Now and in time to be,
Wherever green is worn,
Are changed, changed utterly,
A terrible beauty is born
William Butler Yeats, Easter 1916

A good way to end St. Patrick's Day. I had never heard Bono sing before. Thanks for posting this. The girls -- sisters? -- were good I thought.
Three sisters and a brother. Irish, as is Bono.
Which one is the brother?
The keyboard player. He starts the Joy of Life video. He doesn't get the camera time the girls get. He's the oldest of the four, the violinist is next, then the drummer, and then lead singer and flutist, Andrea, is the youngest. The camera adores her.
Rob, how awesome is that!! I loved both videos. I'm actually going to Ireland in May, and I find it so ironic I'm really noticing all the hoorah with St. Paddy's day. I've been watching the Celtic Women on LPB lately. The trip I'm going on is with a friend from work, who lives in AK, and its a "pub & music" tour along the coast of Ireland. Remember Fr.Steve, from OLPH? Thats where he lives, of course, so I'm going to try and look him up. My mom & dad still keep in contact with him via e-mail.
Thanks, Donna. Patsy and I are both big fans of Celtic music. We have the first Celtic Woman CD among our other CDs of Clannad, Meav, and Loreena McKennett. Don't have any of The Corrs but that will be remedied soon. Hadn't heard Summer Wine since we were kids. Petula Clark did that one but I think this one is even better.
I love Celtic music, and Celtic culture altogether. WWOZ has a 1 1/2 hr program of it every Saturday a.m. from 10-11:30.
The camera adores the youngest and she plays it out. That sultry vixen look gets old.
Hey, I want to go on a music and pub tour too. I went to a few Irish pubs on my birthday last month. I was speaking with an Irish lilt and all. Very fun, but I am sure being submerged in the culture, in Ireland, would be most surreal.
"That sultry vixen look gets old."
Not really.
I want to add that I enjoyed the video clips, the music, the family of pretty musicians(all are nice-looking), and I always enjoy seeing/hearing Bono.
Anyone can catch the Celtic music program on Saturdays. The internet is a wonderful thing. www.wwoz.com.
