Collins Hill Prom

David's Senior Prom was March 24, 2007. I tried to post the pictures last week but I had technical difficulties. Still having them, but Scott figured out how to send Robbie the pictures as attachments vs. straight from his picture program. He needs to figure out why it's not working anymore since we switched back to Charter. Charter people were at my house on Saturday trying to find the problem in my phone line. So darn aggravating!

Anyway, the photo op lasted around two hours. It was held in Kasey's beautiful backyard. Scott's camera is in the shop so Stephen took all the pictures - all 200 plus. He and Scott both exclaim, "I love digital!"

The prom was held at the Fox Theater on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. They had dinner at the Sun Dial which is at the top of a hotel downtown and has a rotating floor with a beautiful view of the city. There were 9 couples so they got split up. That was upsetting to the group because they would have preferred to go to another restaurant, but that restaurant said they could not seat that large of a party together. The Sun Dial apparently told them their restaurant could. They complained and got 5% knocked off the bill. It was a preset Prom menu and cost $50 a person so it didn't hurt the restaurant too much to offer a gesture of goodwill.

After the prom they all went back to Kasey's where they had a bonfire and stayed up until 5:00 AM watching movies. I made a large pan of Special K bars to contribute to the after prom party and Bunk said every last one had been eaten.

On another note - I am out of school this week for spring break. Brianne had her spring break last week. She spent the week visiting friends and doing homework.

Stephen and Kellie are in Biloxi at a casino hotel. We talked to them last night. Kellie had won $100 on a nickel slot machine. Stephen got a crash course in how to play blackjack from the 3 other couples that they're with. He won $100 his first time playing and the others in his group won nothing!

Bunk is on a ski trip with his girlfriend's family. They flew out on Friday morning. He called Friday night to say he had spent the day and was spending the night in Boston. He hadn't known that that was part of the agenda. They went sightseeing all day and had dinner at the oldest restaurant in America.

Patrick leaves tomorrow to meet up with David, Matthew and Shelby in Orlando. David won an all expense paid vacation from his job and he chose Disney World. He invited Patrick to join them. They will be staying on site at Fort Wilderness for four days. They are going to have a great time and Patrick is very excited about it.

Scott and I are going to Lake Hartwell for two nights. Scott has to work on Thursday and Friday and he took Saturday off for Brianne's birthday dinner. We are looking forward to just relaxing for a couple of days. It will feel very weird to have no children home for a few days!

Nice pics, Stephen. Did he really take 200? If you click on the pictures, you can go to the site where they're stored to see the original size.

I loved the pictures! They make such a cute couple. All the girls looked spectacular, especially the one in the red dress. I love a red dress. Where was Brianne going, looking so spiffy? I have been sick for two days and probably have one more day of it. A dry cough that makes my ribs ache. A headache off and on. And now tonight a runny nose. That's why I think it's coming to its conclusion. Once the nose starts, it's decided to be a cold and then it's over. I hardly ever get a cold any more; this is the first in years I think.

Thanks for the pictures. They were a treat. I had forgotten you said you would be sending them.

Sue, those are great pictures, my compliments to the photographer. Where was Brianne going. All of the sudden she looks more grown up!

Brian isn't planning on going to prom this year. He's been at college full time for his senior year in high school so he doesn't want much to do with the high school activities. He doesn't want to go through the commencement program in June either but I won on that battle, right up there with the short haircut for senior pictures. Yea Mom!

Aunt Ginnie, you are so lucky if this is your first cold in a while. It seems like someone has a straggler of a cold around our house from November through March. Another one of the joys of winter.

We had 80 for temps last week Monday and the forecast for today is 2" of snow. My daffodils came up too early this year. I cut the last of them last night since the forecast is for cooler temps through the weekend. Easter Sunday is forecast for 40. It's hard to get cute in a new Easter dress when you have to wear your winter coat over it!

Great pictures- David looks mighty dapper in his bow tie! My sister and I love Kasey's hair. We might try to copy it for Gina's wedding in May.

Laura, we're supposed to have cooler temps this weekend as well. Maybe low 70s. I agree, it is very hard to look "springy" in a winter coat. We have that wardrobe problem in the fall. It's hard for us to wear the great new fall fashions in Sept. and Oct. when the temps are still in the 80's. Loving our weather right now. It's just right!

David, you look so handsome and Kasey looks beautiful. Hope you had a great time. And of course, Brianne looks just as beautiful as ever. I agree with Ms. Ginnie - she does look so grown-up all of a sudden - not that she didn't before but something is different but just as beautiful as ever!! Enjoyed the pictures - thanks.

Looks like fun. David is very handsome. Sounds like a nice dinner even if they were split into two tables. It isn't like you can visit with each of the 18 people at your table anyway. Did $50 cover tax and tip too?

You and Scott look like spring chickens. David is taller than both of you. How nice to have a mini-honeymoon.

My children are going to Gulf Shores with family friends for three nights and four days, leaving the day after Easter. Michael and I have to work those days, but it will still be nice to have a breather from "what's for supper?". Oh, wait a minute, I'll still have Michael asking me that.
The answer will be "Eggos."

Brianne is so pretty. It is so cool how she can straighten her hair like that. It looks pretty straight, though I like the curls too.
