We just picked up the newest addition to the Clayton family today in Alabama. She is a 10 week old Great Dane puppy and we have named her Flick (named after one of our favorite characters from a book we read called Jackdaws by Ken Follett) It was a two hour trip to the Alabama state line, which was half way for us and the breeders. We were hoping to get a female & had a choice between three black puppies with white on their chests and one fawn (tan). On the ride home she slept the entire way & did not make a sound. Before making it home, we stopped by Nonnie & Grandpa's place in Decatur & they loved her. We also had to swing by Wal-Mart to get some goodies...$65 worth!
When we got home we showed her off to the neighbors, David came over to check her out, and Kellie tried taking her for a walk on the leash...I had to go to a store meeting at Circuit City from 8-10:00 (it's my summer job & it has become more demanding than expected). Anyway, here are some pictures. Enjoy.

Kelly and Flick

Love those long legs. Hope she grows into them before she breaks your house. One of your grandmother's favorite movies was The Ugly Dachshund. You and she could remake it now.
Wonderful little dog with her tongue caught between her teeth! What a great picture. And the one of Kelly and Flick is just beautiful. It won't be long before that shot can't be repeated. My girls will take her on any time you say. We'll have to watch the movie again though so they can remember their lines.
Jackdaws was one of my favorite Follett books too -- just full of such unique characters with a scarey mission.
Oh, so cute. I love Great Danes. What a nice name too.
Cute puppy!! Did you know that Pat Bye recently got a Great Dane too---"blue" in color(actually a gray) with a little white on his chest. Can't remember his name as I haven't met him yet.
Her paws are huge! She's beautiful. Hope you enjoy being pet parents. Sign up for an obedience class when the puppy is about 12 weeks old. They teach you more than they teach the dog, but the classes are very helpful.
Annie and Carol reminded me that Pat's puppy is "Dudley". Zack wants to know if he will be trained to be a police dog and help Scott?
Sorry Stephen and Kellie: I thought Flick belonged to Sue/Scott. She still is a cute puppy and you'll have your hands full.
