The kids and I returned to one of our favorite camping spots after two years. We spent three lovely days relaxing and enjoying the great Minnesota outdoors. We were rained on the first night but not a drop entered our tent! We enjoyed perfect weather the rest of the trip. Except for three other families, we had the campground to ourselves . Every evening around 8:00 we were visited by a persistent raccoon who was not in the least afraid of us. The ticks were abundant, the swimmers itch active, but most importantly for Haytham and Hamzah the fish were biting. We returned to the cities Wed. for Asiyah's soccer game. What a surprise to run into PJ and his family at the game. Come to find out Asiyah's team was playing Maddie's team. Both Maddie and Asiyah showed off their athletic talents but alas Maddie's team beat us 0-3. It was wonderful to watch these strong young girls excel in sports.

Lovely pics, Janice. Love the one of Aminah rolling downhill.
Sounds wonderful! Joey and I used to camp a long time ago. We haven't ventured out with our kids yet. Joey's friends used to make fun of him because he was such a serious camper- no lighter fluid or propane stoves and especially NO campers, only tents. I didn't see Omar or Hyder- they don't do the camping thing?
Both Hyder and Omar had to work. Hopefully sometime in July they can take time off and join us.
Loved the pictures. You're building wonderful memories for your boys and girls. I'm guessing the old boys -- Hyder and Omar -- don't get in on this glorious fun. Am I right? It was good to see all of you again -- it wasn't so long ago that we met in person. It was wonderful seeing all the Bye family at Carol's. Aminah and I had a meeting of the minds. I always appreciate it when someone "gets" my sense of humor, such as it is. It was so nice having Nancy and John Lawson's company the other night. I think John is enjoying his assignment, in spite of the intense heat and hard work. Elizabeth is having a family gathering tomorrow so we'll see them again and then Nancy will come back with me to sleep and catch her flight Monday morning. Keep up the good work; school is right around the corner you know.
P.S. I had trouble posting this comment, but I wrote it before Angela asked about O & H.
Aunt Ginnie,
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing you. Wish it could have been a longer visit. I have been looking for the pictures my kids took that day but have recently been informed that they have not put them on the computer. I will pass them on when they load them.
Hey, Rob - how come I cannot use apostrophies on the blog?
Not sure, Janice. There's one in your entry and Angela's comment contains one as does this comment. Are you using a MAC? Don't know why I'm asking. I don't know anything about them.
Sounds like a fun time. I am sure Aminah is very happy about you postin her rolling picture! I imagine you could've lived without the ticks, I know I hate them. Glad you were able to find time to get away and relax as I know you love camping! Love, Carol
