We decided to go see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Saturday night. We usually let these blockbusters go the opening weekend because we like smaller crowds. Surprisingly, the crowd wasn't that bad at the 10PM showing. We both liked it. I know I'm in the minority but I think the movies are better than the books. Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood was perfect, Imelda Staunton was perfectly insufferable (As she should have been) as Professor Dolores Umbridge, and the rest turned in their reliable performances. Rowling has been hinting in the last few books that Ginnie might be the most formidable of all of the Weasleys. This movie put it on display. The climactic scenes at the ministry were excellent.

Robbie, I think you're CRAZY! The books are a thousand times better than the movies. For me it's particularly true for this movie. I re-read half of the book and so the details were very fresh in my mind when I saw it. They leave out so much! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the latest one on Saturday. It will come via muggle post (a.k.a. amazon.com). If it doesn't come on Saturday I'm going to WalMart to buy a copy and then I'll return the other one whenever it shows up. I cannot wait! I am staying away from the internet and t.v. so not to have things spoiled for me. I know that there is a supposed copy of the book leaked already on the internet, but I don't understand why anyone would want to spoil it for themselves. There's no guarantee that it's the real one. I think the people who did it are big jerks! I hope they catch the person/persons responsible and really throw the book at them- pun intended. :)
Ours is coming via muggle post, too. Amazon offered to promise it on the day of release for a few extra bucks but we found we get it on the same day whether we pay extra or not. I'm second in line here. Patsy will read it first. I doubt anyone will spoil it for me. No spoilers allowed here on the blog.
Aaron went with friends last night and managed to get a copy. He said it was crowded at the book store. I won't have to wait the usual year or so before reading it.
