Ashley and Nicole went to London and Scotland with their school theatre group to participate in The Fringe Festival in Edinburgh Scotland. They were gone 12 days and had a very good time. They performed 4 times and saw lots of other plays and went sightseeing as well. While they were gone, Dan and I went to the boat. We had our good friends Sandi and Greg join us for one weekend and then another couple came up midweek for a few days. We also were able to spend some time with Dan's (Bye) daughter Christina and her boyfriend Ryan. We enjoyed spending time with them and took them to one of our favorite lighthouses. All in all everyone had a great vacation. Now we are getting ready for Ashley to go to college (in northern MN) next week. And, we have a foreign exchange student from Japan that is going to live with us for the school year. Her name is Kyoko, she is 16 and is not shy. She just came to us on Wednesday. I think it will be an exciting year. Hope everyone can enjoy the last few days of summer. Here are a few pictures of the vacation(s).

Lovely pictures, Carol. What a nice week everyone had. Katie and Kevin were in Ireland, Scotland, and England for two weeks. They loved Ireland and Scotland and would definitely like to go back someday, they said. My friend Mary's daughter spent a year in Japan and repeated her (high school) senior year there. The first month she was there she had to have her appendix removed. Everything turned out fine, but Mary had some anxious moments. Hope Kyoko's stay is peaceful and worry-free.
I'm sure Katie and Kevin had a wonderful time...how could you not? I hope Kyoko's stay with us isn't as eventful as your friends' daughter! So far so good.
Lovely pictures Carol! Yes, we had a wonderful time! Ireland was quite wonderful, and we would gladly go back there. We loved Scotland as well, but had difficulty finding rooms through our travels. We had a car and traveled to the highlands from Edinbourgh and loved every minute of it. I liked London, but my country boy doesn't like cities so it was not his favorite. There's so much I want to see over there, so next time I will have to go with Amy and Lars and Let Kevin go on that Alaskan fishing trip he wants to take.
