Jackson got MVP at his tournament game today. This is a picture of him with his MVP trophy. He was so excited! And he scored the only touchdown for his team! The referees of the tournament choose an MVP player from each team, win or lose. He played quarterback this season & every once in a while they'd let him run the ball. He loved it when they did. He also played defense and says he prefers that to quarterback, it's not as much pressure. It was very fun watching him play. Last year was his first year playing and he rarely got on the field, but this year he somehow got one of the best positions & so he never left the field. I'm glad it's finally over. Football is a long season & it's a huge commitment, practices often ran two hours or more. I don't know who's going to have a harder time fitting their big head on their pillow tonight, Jackson or Phil! The boys school fair is this weekend also so we've been there all weekend, in between going to the playground. The boys and I worked a booth today for the cub scouts and I'll work a booth tomorrow for Jackson's class. Every family is expected to put in three hours of work for the fair, many put in much more than that. We bought them POP bracelets and for the first time this year, just let them run around with friends while we listened to the band. That was the life! Usually, we follow the boys around from ride to ride and don't even get to hear the music. There's something to be said about children getting older!!

MVP Jackson

Congratulations, Jackson.
Jackson -- I'm so proud of you! Most Valuable Player of the team is such an honor. Congratulations.
First, it was a 40 yard touchdown on a QB sneak up the middle breaking at least 4 tackles. He also had a number of other runs, two of which he was hurt on the last one he wasn't able to continue having the wind knocked out of him with about 2 minutes left. He didn't return. He also had three beautiful open field tackles one 3 yards deep and the other coming from across the field to save a touchdown. His best game ever! To me the best was having all the parents and his teammates congratulating him. The parents were all saying how much he deserved it. Now, for some reason Christina doesn't remember that he played nearly every down last year! We're still trying to teach her how to follow the game! Next, Jacob starts wrestling!
I suppose you might as well get used to that, Phil. It runs in the female side of the family. Elizabeth was in the flag team at Bonnabel and she came home one night exhilarated by the great time she had at the game. When I asked her who won, she said, "I don't know."
Or ... it could be they just like seeing us getting worked up. Like a maestro, they wave their wand and we play our song.
As if!!
Congratulations, Jackson, on a job well done! When you're on the winning Super Bowl team in around 15 years and the camera is on you, after you mouth "Hi Mom" can you please follow it with "and Aunt Sue?!"
Way to go Jackson!!!
CONGRATULATIONS JACKSON!!!!! I'm so excited for you. WOW, you're a radio star and a football star now - what's next!!!!
