We have resisted going over there today to hold and lovingly gaze upon his sweet, adorable face. It has not been easy! Kellie and Stephen were up with Baby Barrett every hour to hour and a half last night. He must have felt that he was all alone in that big crib in that big bedroom. Stephen introduced him to the pacifier at some point in the middle of the night. Barrett kept it in for an hour and cried when it fell out. Stephen put it back in and they all slept for another hour. Kellie and Stephen dozed most of the day today when Barrett slept. He is really a very beautiful baby and we are slightly (?) FREAKED out that we are old enough to be GRANDPARENTS!

Congratulations, Sue. What a fun time.
Think of how I might feel about seeing MY baby girl holding HER baby grandson. Gives you pause, doesn't it?
Loved the picture. Just beautiful.
When you hit the "submit" button it doesn't seem to register, so the natural inclination is to hit it again. And again. And again. Then you have to make an appeal to the Master to remove all but one of the comments.
But since I'm here anyway, I just have to add that when I made my comment, I hadn't seen the other pictures of the rest of the Claytons. Everyone looks properly awe-struck and respectful of the newest member of our family, the precious Barrett Scott. Lovely pictures, all of them.
If the blog says your comment has been submitted, it has been. If you don't see your comment immediately, please press "Refresh" or "Reload" in your browser. No need to do it over and over.
It's not that far into the program that the feeling your comment wasn't accepted sets in: it's when you hit "submit" and nothing registers. I'm trying to think what it does, and I think it's a flicker and then a color change in the word -- but I'm not sure. It's been an hour since I did it and my memory is going fast.
someone please explain "baby warren"---nickname or something else??? sorry to hear the first night was a fright but eventually it will get better:)
Warren was Stephen's first choice of names for a boy. It met such stiff resistance from the family that he relented ... but he called the baby Warren throughout the pregnancy. I didn't think it was so bad. I know quite a few of them. Also, his great grandfather (Uncle Sam to you, Nancy) went to Warren Easton High School in New Orleans. Warren Burger, Warren Beatty, Warren Buffett ... it wasn't so bad.
