Joey and I drove to Atlanta last Thursday to spend the Easter holiday with the Claytons and to see Baby Barrett. He was just adorable and worth the 500 mile drive! Such a good baby. Samuel and Luke absolutely loved him. Luke loved giving him kisses, but he only wanted to kiss him on the mouth so I'm thankful he was healthy! Easter was wonderful. Sue put on quite a spread and we all ate like royalty. We dyed eggs on Saturday, and then Joey taught everybody how to "pacque" eggs. It's a Cajun tradition that he grew up with. Everyone participated and even Baby Barrett got in on the action and won the game!
Joey and the babies and I drove to Callaway Gardens on the way home. I think I'm going to disappoint Sue and Katie when I say that I think we missed something. They both went on and on about the beauty and the fun but we missed it. Maybe it was the 45 degree weather or maybe it was my constant worrying about the babies getting too cold in their little sweatshirts, or maybe it was the fact that not a single azalea was in bloom, but we failed to see the beauty. It was really kind of a bust for us. Maybe we didn't get on the right trails. I don't know. We finally decided to rent bikes and we each had a baby on the back. We put several layers of clothing on them and then wrapped them up in their blankets. Needless to say, stopping to browse was out of the question with all that nonsense going on. Mainly, it was just too cold for that kind of day. Glad the muggy 80s are coming back! We need to go back when the weather is a little better and more flowers are in bloom.

Easter Weekend 2008

I think you're a little too early for the azaleas/dogwoods/wisteria/etc to be in bloom there. The Masters in Augusta is April 7-13. That's when the azaleas are on fire. Still got some nice pics, tho. :)
Looks like you had a wonderful time at Sue's. Too bad we missed seeing you in New Orleans. Which by the way had BEAUTIFUL weather for those of us visiting from MN!
Angela,
Samuel and Luke are so adorable and getting so big. I haven't seen pictures of them in a while. Thanks for posting them. Also, thanks for posting Sue's traditional Easter picture of Patrick, Brianne, David, Stephen and now Kellie and Barrett and Samuel and Luke. I always love that picture and love the fact that she still takes it. I still carry in my wallet an Easter picture Sue sent me of her children with their Easter baskets. The picture I have is so old that Patrick is only about 3 yers old in it but I still love it. It was the Easter that I went to see them and I went with Sue to buy those baskets and the bows for them. Which in fact, if I remember correctly, those bows were only recently replaced in the last few years. Glad you had such a nice visit. I've never heard of "pacque" eggs and I'm half cajun. What is it? Sorry Callaway Gardens was a bust. I think it is too early for Callaway. I've always heard great things about it.
Barbara,
I STILL carry a picture of the twins in their sailor outfits (Circa 1977 or so). It's in one of those plastic wallet picture holders from about ten wallets ago. I'm afraid the plastic would tear their faces off if I tried to remove it so I just transfer it to the new wallet whenever I buy one.
Rob,
I still carry pictures of my sisters that are like that too. I wouldn't recommend "tearing their faces off". The old pictures I carry around always make me think of fond memories.
