Barrett visited his Gigi (Sue) at her school today in his St. Patrick's Day outfit. She just loved it. He was a good boy. I made sure he had his green on to keep him from getting pinched, so you can imagine my concern when Mr. Scott showed up at my house, to pick us up for the extravaganza, and he didn't have on any green. I offered to find him something and he replied, "I like the ladies to pinch me"...and they did, with a little provoking of course.
Barrett also made his debut at church this Sunday. He wore an adorable outfit that my mom bought him. It was a plaid button up shirt and navy corduroy overalls. I thought he looked precious and couldn't pass up the photo opportunity. He did really well considering the collar on his shirt kept rubbing his cheeks and making him think it was lunch time. We were nervous the whole time that he was going to let out a big cry since we where right by the microphone used by the choir. Luckily, he didn't and we made it to the end of mass with no big interruptions.
Barrett is smiling now and we cannot seem to get enough pictures of him doing it. He is also standing on his own! He is such a big boy.
With all the picture taking, it has come to my attention that Stephen cannot be left alone with the camera. He thinks it is perfectly fine to have Flick lick the baby in the face! I completely disagree! So, know that the pictures of Barrett and Flick together were taken during Stephen's "unsupervised" time. I do like to see the size difference though. It will be fun to watch him grow next to her. Oh, Flick will be one year old next week!

Cute photos. Why is Sue called "Gigi"? Carol
I tell you I laughed out loud when I saw these smiling pictures!! He is perfect. A wonderful baby. I loved all of them and I can't wait to see him in person.
He's so cute. What a smile that is. I love the picture of him with Flick. She's looking lovely as well.
I can't wait to eat him up in two days! That smiling picture is all Stephen now. What are you feeding that boy- milkshakes?
Adorable! I see he has his bunkum t-shirt on!! Those cheeks are awfully tempting. Sue, I bet that was a real thrill for you to show him off at school..and you too Kellie!
When Stephen was three or four years old, we were at a Chuckie Cheese and I heard a little girl call her grandmother, "Gigi." I liked the way it sounded. I wrote it down when I got home for when in twenty-two years I would become a grandmother, I would remember that I liked that name. Also, around two years ago there was an article in the paper about today's grandparents opting to be called names other than Grandma and Grandpa. Gigi was on that list. Whether or not I actually get called Gigi is another matter entirely. Scott's mother emphatically and repeatedly told Stephen, "I'm your Granny!" He called her Nonnie which stuck for him and her five other grandchildren. Scott's daddy's wisdom was that he didn't care what his grandchildren called him just so long as they called him.
David's children call their other grandmother Gigi. I thought that was cute and wished it had occurred to me all those years ago to be called something different. Sara Dolan Flanagan is called Nonnie and she told us she has several friends who copied her. My friend Eloise is called Honey. Uncle Mark's mother-in-law was called Granny and I always thought that sounded odd, but Samuel and Luke call their other grandmother Granny. They call me MawMaw, as do Jackson and Jacob. The end. (Who said Thank Goodness?)
A former work colleague was called "Grandmother" by her grandchildren. I thought it was a little too prim and proper at first but really grew to like it when I heard them say it.
My mom and dad are hoping to be called Grammy and Pappy. I like those too!
