Sue was ten years old when she took sewing lessons. I can’t remember who the teacher was or who went with her. I had to buy a pattern and a length of material for a play suit, a top and bottom. I bought a heavy red cotton. The details of this summer project escape me, but when all was said and done, she had a darling outfit that fit her perfectly and was stitched together by a person who was well on her way to being an expert. She is still an expert at whatever she attempts – sewing, crocheting, embroidering, gourmet cuisine, child rearing, and now GRANDMOTHERING! I am so proud of her. Happy Birthday, Sue.
A large birthday

Happy Birthday Sue! Hope it's a good one.
Happiest yet, Sue. I wish I knew how to crochet. Lucky!!!
Happy Birthday My Friend. I hope you had a Wonderful and Relaxing Weekend at the lake. Happy Birthday.
Ms Ginnie,
I'm hurt - I'm the one who went to sewing lessons with Sue. We went to Advanced Sewing on Jefferson Highway but I cannot remember the teacher's name. I can still see her but cannot remember her name. I'm sure Sue will remember. Did you buy the pattern and material for the play outfit from "Big" TG&Y on Williams. That was where my Mom and I would always go to buy material and patterns. I used to love their material department. We both enjoyed the lessons and Sue was great from the start. I enjoyed sewing until I went to college. Seems like I didn't have much time after that and have not sewn anything since. On the other hand, Sue has done some really nice things. The Christening gown she made is a work of art and I love her curtains.
Ok people I know 50 is old but my house looks like a funeral home...Happy Birthday to the greatest wife in the world, and to my best friend...LOVE YA ANOTHER 50...
Scott,
I can't believe you actually spelled out "50" in your birthday wishes. A very brave thing to do!!!!! I got yelled at one time when one of your children asked how old I was (and I told them) because Sue knew they would be able to figure out how old she was once they knew my age - of course I still have several months to go so I am not 50 years old. I'm sure everyone knows how old Sue is today but its one thing to know it and another thing to put it in writing.
Look people if you're scared just say I'm scared....I ain't scared...cause I can run faster than her...heee I'm only 47....
Scott,
I'm scared and proud of it and you should be too. You'll feel better once you admit it.
We celebrated Mom's birthday this Sunday and I really was sitting there wondering to myself "How old is Mom?". Ever since I can remember, Mom has been only 29 years old...so who knew she turned the big 5-0 this year?! Deuces.
Stephen,
Since I know how wonderful a son you are, I'm sure in your mind your Mom is still 29 years old. And if you're smart, you'll leave it at that. Just a little friendly advice from me to you.
