Ollie - April 9, 2008
Dan's friend Andy dropped off his birthday present on Monday. There had been talk about a puppy but I thought I had until the fall. Guess he thought our life was getting a little dull. So far so good. Wishbone doesn't seem to mind Ollie, mostly just walks away. Cookie (the cat) hasn't attacked him and just watches from afar. The fun is just beginning.

Can't resist a face like that!! Hope the potty training goes well(and fast)--that's the worst thing about having a puppy. Enjoy.
He is too cute!
Nanc, I agree the potty training is the hardest. I've got to start learning to read his body language. Angela, it's a good thing he's cute 'cause I have a feeling he's gonna need any extra advantage he can get as time goes on. ;o)
He has all the advantage he needs. Look at those sad eyes. :)
He is adorable. It's interesting that you and Katie Tompkins now each have an Ollie in residence. Hers is a mini-dachshund and yours is a yellow lab? He seems more golden so I'm wondering if he might be a retriever? I know you will love having him and it seems to me, with school out, it will be nice to have all that help. And then, Dan probably chooses shorter hours to take advantage of all that summer daylight and fun and he'll be a great help as well. You see how I can plan your life for you?
Aunt Ginnie, I'm so glad to have your help planning my life! I'll love having Ollie as long as he follows my rules. Dan helps but you know really who will do the majority of the work/training at home. The weather is s'pose to be getting warmer which will help as I take him out what seems like a million times a day. And, yes he is a yellow lab; 9 weeks old; weighs 16#.
I'd like to note that I too have an Ollie. My Ollie is an adorable four-year old cocker spaniel. Are there any other Ollie's out there?
Joan -- how nice to hear from you. Have you been behind the bush all these years? When I was growing up, the cocker spaniel was the number one dog in the U.S. and I think that lasted for many years. I haven't ever seen one down here though. Elizabeth bought a brown and white puppy called cock-a-poo, a poodle and cocker mix. She studied the Internet and learned that this creates a hyperallergenic animal and that suited her since everyone at her house suffers from allergies from time to time. Then she decided that Pumpkin probably needed a companion so she bought a tiny little shitzu-poodle mix, also hyperallergenic, called a shi-poo. She's solid black with a white goatee and is the size of a little mouse! Her name is Doodle. Both dogs are gorgeous.
Yes, that's a digger right there. Cute as can be, though. Love those labs.
Happy belated to Dan.
