Barrett was 4 months old on Sunday and made his first trip to the lake house. He slept the whole ride in the back seat with Flick, who was a bit of a seat hog. I wish I had a picture of it. Every time we stopped Flick would stand up in the back and look out the window. In the process her tail would whack Barrett in the face and wake him up. He in turn would start crying and she would get a little frustrated with him and try to move as far away from his car seat as she could. Needless to say, the two kept us pretty entertained the whole way up.
Barrett got his 4 month picture while he was out catching some rays. He did not get in the water since it was so low by our dock. The water was also pretty muddy so I am not sure I would have put him in it anyway. He was an angel the whole weekend though. Miss Sue brought her pack-n-play so we wouldn't have to pack ours up and he slept in it very well...despite the air conditioning being broken! He had to spend most of the weekend in his t-shirt and diaper.
Barrett saw the doctor today for his 4 month check-up and she said he looked great. He weighed in at 14.7 lbs. which is in the 40% for his age. He is a shorty though! He is only 23 3/4 inches long (12%) and his head circumference is only 15 3/4 (6%). We were assured by the doctor that he is growing proportionately and that we shouldn't worry. He flirted with the doctor the entire time (smiled and cooed), which she loved and commented on several times. This all ended when they came in to give him his shots. He got 4 shots today and one oral vaccine. He was not happy! He quieted quickly afterward though and slept all the way home. We are planning to start cereal to increase his caloric intake in hopes that he will sleep as well as he once was...we plan to start on a day when he is feeling better. I am sure we will have some interesting pictures once that starts.

P.S. Last weekend, Barrett took his first trip to Waffle House. Stephen couldn't resist getting him a hat. We think we would be a shoe in for a job there...he already meets the "no teeth" requirement.
