May is National Burger Month and in honor of that, Phil came up with a grand plan to celebrate...Burgerpalooza. His small idea turned into a big one, with several local celebrities getting on board to build a "celebrity" burger, which proceeds from the sale of those burgers goes to charity. You can read more about it on Phil's website, phils-grill.com. Deuce McCalister, a Saints player, was the first on board and as a result, it's his charity that benefits. The Mackel brothers, twins who are on the local NBC news, also have a burger and they wanted to do a segment for the news about it. Today was the taping, the boys got to meet Deuce and get his autograph. They were even in the segment, Jackson has a speaking part! I'm not sure when it's supposed to air, Phil thinks Sunday morning but they'll also be promoting it all week during the different news broadcasts. It was a very exciting day for Phil, a huge Deuce fan, and for the boys. Jackson had a picture of Deuce that he got autographed and Phil had my Saints jersey, which is Deuce, autographed. We all have a different player's jerseys, I'm the one who has Deuce!
Of course, I didn't get to meet him because I'm following doctor's orders and staying in bed. I have been so bored. I'm reading and catching up on my internet celebrity gossip but you can only do so much of that. I find by the end of the day, I'm desperate for Phil to come home and entertain me! The boys are playing baseball and each night one of them has had a game or practice so I'm left alone again! I know when this baby is born I will wish for more downtime. Angela & Janine are set to come over tomorrow to paint the baby's room for me and then Phil will put together the furniture. We will hopefully, finally have a nursery ready for this boy by the end of the weekend. Phew!

What a treat. I've been keeping up with the newsletters but I haven't been to the SouthShore in months now. Gotta get over there for a burger soon.
Can't wait to see the news segment! I had the Kat's Bayou Buger and loved it. Never thought about putting grilled bell peppers on my burger, but they were yummy! Joey, as is always the case when we go out to eat, was envious of my selection and was begging for a bite.
How fun! Somebody tape the segment on t.v. for me.
It's supposed to also be on the WDSU website, so you should be able to catch it online. I'll keep you posted.
Angela -- Who is Kat? I would like a little bit of bell pepper, but more than a little would be overpowering. I can't wait to taste one of those burgers because I've never branched out into something new and different. I always get the same thing, every time.
Congrats on your success, how exciting for all of you. (Even if you did have to hear about it second hand)
Wow. Phil's in the big time now. So cool to have a power push. Good for him for fleshing out his dream. Never watching news, I didn't know who the Mackel brothers were. What a nice picture of them all.
I wish I could complain about having to RELAX all the time.
I can't wait to hold the little, healthy ba-bay. It'll be over soon enough, Christina.
