Summertime

It's finally summer here in the north, have had a few 90degree days and the flowers are blooming. Where is everyone?? Not too many notes on the blog. We had a quiet 4th of July--picnic with John's dad, sister and brother-in-law and Anne's boyfriend joining us. Watched fireworks over the lake and saw an amazing firefly display on the way back to the house(must have been thousands of them---looked like fairy lights blinking)! That's all for now. Keep in touch:) Nancy

Lovely, Nancy. Yours?

Beautiful flowers. Reminds me of my mother's garden, so many different colors. I haven't seen fireflies in years and years. I wonder if the mosquito spray, which is wonderfully effective here in Kenner, also kills fireflies. It must have been a pretty sight to end your Fourth of July celebration.

Yes, Rob, these are planted around the house and in a space at the end of the driveway. Of course I couldn't do it without Anne---my best gardening assistant!

Very pretty flowers. What a lovely grouping of pictures. Looks like the back cover of a calendar.

I worked on the 4th. It was a slow night until I was ready to go home. We got a group of bachelors - taking a groom-to-be out for one last round. They were doing shots of Jameson - bleccch!! - and whooping it up. I had to stay until that rush died down. That was allright. I had the next night off and went to the Abita brew pub for a couple of cold ones. No shots. No whooping it up. Went to WalMart after.
