Good morning. It's good to be at home again. I left on Saturday afternoon, bound for Katie's house across the lake, with two dogs and a bird. Denise and Lois de Gruy and Chelsea, Denise's springer spaniel, joined us. The four dogs (did I mention the resident, Max?) did great together, except for one snarly episode of Gretel purloining Chelsea's food bowl. Chelsea wisely backed off. Our electricity failed -- you know what? I can't remember if it was Saturday night or Sunday! Anyway, Kevin hooked up a generator and we were very comfortable until the electricity was restored Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Phillip de Gruy drove past my house and his mother's house and called to say I had power but she did not. I immediately went to pack my belongings and head out. The hospitality was non pareil, as always, but there's just no place like home.
Thank you for worrying about all of us. It's very gratifying. Thank goodness we all came through just fine. A little inconvenience is about all we suffered.

We experienced a little inconvenience but I think those who left the area might disagree. By the way, Patsy's Uncle Jimmy passed Tuesday.
Sorry about Patsy's uncle. Which cousins are his kids? My sympathies.
I know I've gone on too much about evacuating. I am tired of hearing myself. I'd have rather stayed, but I got to visit with Sue and her family - despite my bad attitude - that was so nice. The two babies, Barrett and Jude, were passed around and loved on. Jacob and Jackson were easy and sweet to be with. Aaron has a dry wit that kept me laughing on the road. He got to visit with his cousin, Patrick, which suited him just fine. Shelby and Julia are best friends and loved being there. It was a disruption in all of our lives. I am glad it's over, holding my breath that there'll be no more this season that will make us run for cover.
Glad to hear you are back in your own homes. What a hassle to pack up and leave for an undetermined amount of time. You are so lucky to have friends/relatives who are able and willing to take you in and make the evacuation bearable. Pray there will be no more bad storms this season.
