Barrett Walking

Barrett took his first steps on November 24, just a day before he turned 10 months. Unfortunately, Stephen and I missed him taking his first actual steps! We were visiting a friend in the hospital that had just had a baby and Barrett was with his Nanan (Brianne). When I called to let her know we were on our way to pick him up she exclamed, "Your boy is walking!" I couldn't believe we missed it! When we got over to Stephen's parents, we encouraged Barrett to do his new trick again and he obliged us. We caught a few on video and thought we would share it with you all.

Now that Barrett is 10 months he can do several new things. He will raise his arms to "sooo big" when you ask him, "How big is Barrett?" He is clapping his hands, saying ball, pointing at objects that catch his attention, and practicing his walk whenever he gets his balance. He has also figured out how to unroll the toilet paper, open cabinets and drawers, and how to open and close doors. Needless to say, we are busy... but quite entertained.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Samuel came home from school last week saying this poem and I was so impressed with him! We're headed to Janine's tomorrow for lunch and then on to Joey's mom and dad's for dinner. Right now I eat every couple of hours so having two feasts in the same day is right up my alley! I also haven't been cooking for the last 7 weeks so I can't wait for those home cooked meals. I hope everyone enjoys a delicious meal tomorrow!

King Zor

I had one. King Zor is the coolest toy ... EVER.

I know Santa didn't pay $175-$1000 for it and if I still had it, that wouldn't be nearly enough to pry it away from me.

Cracker Jack

About Cracker Jack:

Candy-coated popcorn, peanuts, and a prize
That's what you get in Cracker Jack

Don't see their commercials any more if they even still make them but I'd be heartbroken if they changed that classic little ditty. Wouldn't you? I think the three-pack was 25ยข when I was a kid. Click on the image to see how much Amazon is asking for it. They were a fave in our house. I've reconnected with Cracker Jack (For whatever reason, I've said "Cracker Jacks" all my life) the last few years. I usually get the bags now and they're still delicious although a tad disappointing. Eating your way to the bottom where the peanuts were was always the best part of getting those Cracker Jack boxes. Maybe it's just a fond recollection but I think there were more peanuts in those little boxes back then than there are in today's larger bags.

Barrett the Bear

Here is a picture of Barrett in his Halloween costume. We didn't go
trick-or-treating, but he did help hand out some candy. Barrett
stayed up until 8:45 (late for him) and then we followed him an hour
later. (I know...our Friday nights are lame!) On another note,
Barrett had a doctor appointment yesterday. He weighs 19.05 lbs
(25%), and is 27" long (10%). He also has two teeth now...so we have
to be careful when sticking our fingers in his mouth.
