I know Santa didn't pay $175-$1000 for it and if I still had it, that wouldn't be nearly enough to pry it away from me.

No, it didn't cost that much, but back then it cost more than we usually would spend on a Christmas gift -- I have no idea today how much that was. I wish the commercial had mentioned the price, but they didn't want to scare the customers away I suppose. Nothing scared Daddy away at Christmas time, certainly not the lack of money!!
By the way, I have a CD of the Old Crow Medicine Show and am playing it right now. Noel loves it and tries to drown it out -- those particular instruments inspire him to new heights it looks like.
