Yesterday was Samuel's 4th birthday. He kept asking me all day when he was going to be 4 and I kept telling him "It's your birthday today so you're 4 today." He finally said, "No, when am I going to get 20 presents and blow out 4 candles?" He thinks he doesn't officially turn 4 until he has a party. We'll have cake and ice cream on Saturday when the family comes over so I guess he'll believe it then.
We celebrated Mardi Gras today by heading uptown to St. Charles with Joey's brother, Scotty, and his friends. One of his friends has a house close to the parade route so we were near a bathroom, which is a must for me! We brought out the ladder chair for the kids, but didn't get out too early so we didn't get to walk the street and see any memorable costumes today. Samuel loved sitting in the ladder chair but Luke could stay home for Mardi Gras- he is not a fan! He'll be the type of New Orleanian who will leave town every year at this time. Joey had a great Mardi Gras season at the store-the recession hasn't hit the Carnival-going-New-Orleanian thankfully.

Samuel's 4th birthday

Happy Birthday, Samuel. Great pics, Angela.
Cute pictures. We celebrated Mardi Gras by caring for the infirm. Jacob started with fever on Sunday and a trip to the doctor yesterday determined he had the flu. Jackson came home from Lizzie's yesterday not feeling well and developed fever last night, he now has the flu too. Phil and I laid in bed pretty much all day with the baby, watching The Dark Knight. It took us over 4 hours to watch that movie, in between caring for Jude & the two sick boys. Hopefully, they'll be better before Thursday since I have to go back to work and would not impose them on anyone. The flu is no fun.
That's a pretty fancy pot-o-gold set up in the background of that last picture. Yet, it's still a port-a-potty!!!
That porta-potty was set up in our friends' truck right at the corner of the parade route so that his guests didn't have to walk the 4 blocks back to the house for the facilities. It was well maintained and nice to have at our disposal!
Beautiful pictures of beautiful people. They made me smile! Luke's hair is getting to be so light, don't you think?
Very cute! We celebrated at Stephen's last night with pizza and a specially ordered (by Kellie as a surprise to me)Georgia bakery cream cheese filled King Cake. It was fun getting to be with Baby Bear during the week. He is very entertaining and I just LOVE to kiss that face - is that so wrong??
Lovely pictures. Did you have to climb onto that truck to use the facility, or was it lowered to the ground? Funny thing about King Cakes, we had two this season and that was IT. One can o.d. on those things.
You can see what I looked like Mardi Gras day - which I worked. It was a dismal money day, so I won't be doing that again. www.jupitersgirl.blogspot.com
