I see one wing.
I thought I only saw one wing too, but upon closer study, I could trace the little girl's right wing. Look at her throat -- you can see a faint feathering of the wing. It's a wonderful picture, Rob. You did a good job. Now we need to see one of the ruby-throated fellows, just for comparison.
Both wings are visible, Janine. They're backlit by the sun. A great effect I wish I could take credit for but it was really accidental.
The males seem to have this harem thing going, Mom. I see about 1 male for every 15 females or so.
By the way, I saw a spectacular goldfinch yesterday morning at Katie's feeder. Brilliant yellow.
Great picture Rob! Every time I refill the feeders the birds are buzzing and I wish I had my camera. They are feeding more now, probably in anticipation of migration soon.
Thanks, Nancy. The flock here heads south in about 6 weeks so your flock is probably loading up. Mine start swarming big time 7-10 days before they leave.
