Sue and I are in here somewhere. When the balloon goes into the stands, we're just to the left of it. We were maybe 12-15 seats over and at about the same level as the balloon's basket. I was wearing a black overcoat. I don't remember what Sue was wearing. The resolution isn't really good enough to make us out. This is the only Super Bowl I've ever attended and probably ever will attend. Sue and I were in that endzone, Mom and Dad were in the other, and I'm not sure where Bob and Ann were but they were there, too.

Rob -- You should have mentioned your ages -- I think you were going on 12 and Sue was going on 11. Daddy was looking through the binoculars and hollering and motioning to you wildly to MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! I doubt anyone today would turn two little children loose in that huge stadium to make their way to their seats. Daddy put a lot of trust in your knowledge since you had been there before. And that was because he himself had been on his own at a very young age to roam about. He didn't think anything of it and I guess I didn't either since I, too, had done a lot of roaming when I was young. My roaming though was in the outskirts of the city, not in the heart of one, like Tulane Stadium. Oh well, all's well that ends well and neither of you were harmed and not terribly frightened as I recall. Sue?
The game was played on January 11, 1970. I was 12 going on 13 and Sue was 11 going on 12. I was laughing at the spectacle in a "Whose idea was this?" kind of way. Sue was frightened. No one would turn two children our ages loose in a big stadium these days. It was a different time, Mom.
