Jon Stinchcomb

Jon Stinchcomb came to my school two weeks ago. His nephew (by marriage) is in my class and Jon was in town visiting his family so he decided he would come and visit us. He got his start here. He played at Parkview High (where Stephen will be teaching next year) and he played for Georgia. It was so much fun to have him at school. He was great with the kids and such a nice guy. He did a little inspirational talk to our class, signed some autographs, and took some pictures. I even got one with him by myself! He looks much chubbier on TV then he does in real life. He is very tall though! I was amazed by his height. What a great year to know him!

What a treat. He's Patsy's favorite Saints player.

Kellie,

How fun to get Jon Stinchcomb to come to your class. The Saint's players go to a lot of the schools here and the kids love it. Glad to see you were wearing your black and gold.

These are great pictures. I've never seen him before but maybe I've heard his name. He's such a big fellow! I've heard someone say that in person a football player seems twice the size as in a picture. Would you say that? Your class of seventeen looks sweet and orderly.

I felt like Jon was very big in real life. I kept catching myself staring with my mouth wide open. I asked him if his dad was a big guy and he said he was about 6' 2" but that his brother, Matt, was even bigger than he is. Matt also played at Georgia and went Pro. He is a sports announcer or something now.
I just loved meeting him. I asked if he liked it in New Orleans (since he is a Georgia native) and he said that he loves it! He said that their isn't any other team in the NFL that is so supported by their city. He said it is awesome when he goes out and about. He said that everyone is so friendly and that they all seem like such big fans. He also spoke very highly of the food and said that it was easy to maintain his 300+ pounds living there.

Oh, I must admit that I had to borrow the Saints attire from Miss Sue. I didn't have anything! He commented that he liked it though. :-) Maybe he could score me a Super Bowl shirt.
