Last week (4/12) was Dan’s 50th birthday. He had wanted to spend it with friends in the British Virgin Islands (since we had such a good time before), so that’s what we did. We used the same charter company we used in 2006 but because there were 8 of us, we chartered a bigger boat. (47feet). It worked out perfectly. Everyone had their own state room and bathroom (a must) and there was plenty of room outside to lounge in the sun (or not if your name is Carol). We were able to do some snorkeling, beach walkin’ and general relaxing. It was super windy so the snorkeling wasn’t the greatest as the water was cloudy because of the waves, but still I saw a sting ray and other various “pretty” fish. All in all it was a fabulous way to spend a birthday; good friends, good food and plenty of laughs. Here are some photos of big day.

Ahhhhh

Looks like a grand time. Happy Birthday, Dan.
Those pictures are beautiful! Wish I were there now!!!
What a fabulous boat. And just gorgeous scenery. I was surprised at the terrain -- looks almost mountainous. How did Dan do as Captain of the ship? What about meals? I suppose you were the chef and did an excellent, mouth-watering job of it. Happy Birthday, Dan. You'll find fifty is pretty good once the initial shock is over. Love to you both, Aunt Ginnie
That first picture looks like a postcard! That's beautiful. Okay, Phil has 8.5 years to save up to go there! I like the idea of having a private boat for all the friends.
It was sort of mountainous. Dan did an excellent job as the captain (as always). Being on Lake Superior is similar to the ocean as it's very big and has a mind of it's own. We ate out some and cooked on the boat some. Everyone helped w/ meal prep and it was tasty. Christina...start savin' it's so worth it!
Carol,
Your pictures are gorgeous. What a nice group of friends! Dan is so lucky to spend his birthday in such style. While snorkeling and boating are not part of my dream vacation, your destination and the beach definitely could be. How nice! Happy 50th Dan!
Elizabeth, the best part of the trip was spending it with good friends. Dan is a lucky man to have such good friends.
