It was time to move on

The old blog is broken.  The commenting system isn't working properly and I just can't pin down the cause.  This is Movable Type Version 5.2.  It seems to be working properly.  I still have some tinkering to do but the bare bones part of it is working.  You shouldn't have to sign in to comment any more but that may change if spam gets out of hand.  If you want to, though, signing in with a Movable Type account works fine.  Signing in with a TypePad/TypeKey account works but only if you check the "Remember Me" box.  You'll get an error if you don't.  I think that problem is on TypePad/TypeKey's end.  It just appeared recently and it seems to be the case at a lot of blogs I read.

After one use, I'd like to say that I kinda like the new editor in Movable Type but it will surely take some getting used to and I'm certain there are some things I'll miss from the previous version's configurations I used here.

LSU held on for a hard-fought road win over Texas A&M this morning.  The Tigers have some problems on offense that I don't think they'll overcome before they take on Alabama in a few weeks.  They just cannot get a passing game going.  They can run fine and that will be enough against most of the teams they'll face this season.  It wasn't good enough against Florida a few weeks ago and it most defintely will not be good enough for the Tide.

We went to the Franklinton State Fair last night.  We got there a little too late and had to park about six blocks away.  Quite a few of the merchant booths were closed already.  We spent about $15 on average food and drinks and saw a tribute band called Bon Journey.  The Journey material they do is almost perfect.  They sound pretty much like a Journey record.  The Bon Jovi material wasn't bad although the singer sounds a lot more like Steve Perry than Jon Bon Jovi.  We didn't stay for the whole show.

While the Cards and Giants are fighting each other tooth and nail, the Tigers are waiting patiently after sweeping the Yankees.  I'm thinking the National League Champion will be a decided underdog even with their homefield advantage ... and I'll be rooting for them.

Got a flu shot at work yesterday.  I've decided I'm going to get that shot when it is convenient and free but won't if I have to go out of my way or pay for it.  The lazy cheapskate in me overrides the generous health nut in me.

Newsweek bites the dust.  There will certainly be more.  Forbes asks a question.  I think we all know the answer.  Is it the Death Of Print, Or Just The Death Of Newsweek?  It's both.

Today's QOTD comes from one of my favorite moments in film.  Click on the link to see it or see it again. :)

Quote of the Day

You know, uh, it won't fly unless somebody pushes the button.  It's yours if you want it.

Blog of the day is here.

I agree, it was a good run. Good way to stay in touch though Facebook seems to have taken over. I'll still check here occasionally to see what you have to say. Thanks for all you have done to get it going, keep it going, and help us less tech savvy ones to upload pictures etc. great job Robbie!

Good of you to leave a map when you moved. ;)

Thanks. The new digs still need some work, though. All of your comments went to moderation. No idea why. Now that they've been published, maybe it won't happen again. Not sure what caused it. Andrea's comment went to moderation last night, too.
