As of right now, a family reunion in 2008 is pretty much out. I'll password-protect this blog again if we decide to pick the subject up again. I think I'd like to try again in 2009 or 2010.
Recently in Reunion is the only category Category
Time to start discussing possible dates and venues for Reunion 2008. Since the vast majority of the family lives near Minneapolis, I think holding the event(s) near there is still the best choice but there's no need to limit ourselves to that. Laura and Carol did a fantastic job coordinating the amazingly successful 2004 reunion (Almost all by themselves). I'll do a little more this time but don't be afraid to volunteer. Any help is appreciated.
The Republican National Convention is going to be held in Minneapolis but it's in September so hotel rooms, rental cars, etc in the traditional summer months shouldn't be hard to find.
I liked where I was last time and will probably do that again. I even hope to stay a little longer so I can see more of the sites and more of the cousins in and around the city.
Like last time, I think the expenses for the event(s) should be split amongst the 30 cousins attending. No need for Mom, Aunt Pat, Aunt Mary Ann, Aunt Catherine or Uncle Dick to put up anything.
I think we should first focus on the venue, then the dates.
Any other ideas?
Some of us have talked about holding our next Family Reunion in 2008. Every four years seems like a doable and desirable thing. Once again, I had a blast. I hope to do some other things while I'm there next time like I did this time. Patsy and I intend to drive up in 2008.
No spellcheck today so forgive mis-spellings and typos.
First and foremost, thanks to Laura and Carol for their phenomenal effort. I don't know how it could have been improved on. I guess they could have ordered better early weather but that's another issue.
I'm not going to post any of the people pictures to any blog. I may post some of myself and some Minneapolis scenes but that's about it. If you want some of these images posted, I'd like everyone in the picture to OK it. I have taken a lot of pictures and all of them are crystal clear, even the ones where composition could have been better. Many of them are excellent. What else could they be? Great subjects all.
Everyone on the family contact list will get a CD with all of the pictures. They will not be edited and no selections of any kind will be made. They'll be yours to do with as you please.
Any persons not on the family contact list should send me their address if they'd like a CD.
Had a great time. Let's not wait 16 years to do another one.
There are a few of us interested in going to a MN Twins game on either Tuesday, June 29th or Wednesday, June 30th. Both games are against the Chicago White Sox (currently 1st in division) and both games start at 7:10 p.m.
I need to know who is interested in going and how much we want to pay for tickets. Please let me know by Monday, June 21st if you are interested.
Ticket prices range from $8 in the nosebleed upper level outfield seats to $35 for the really good ones. The Twins website is www.twinsbaseball.com
Could someone please ask the non-blogging family members if they're interested?
OK, I'm all set. Plane ticket, hotel reservation, and car rental are taken care of. There was a bit of a jump in the prices since I first started looking so this is where my truck thieves cost me the most. Thanks, pigs. I would have done all of this sooner had that not happened. Life goes on.
I'll be in Minneapolis from Saturday afternoon, the 26th, thru Thursday afternoon, July 1st. Besides the Reunion on Sunday, I’ll take in a Twins game one night, the Mall of America one afternoon, and I’m going to have coffee or lunch with a fellow blogger some time while I’m there. I’m free the rest of the time to see the sights and sounds of Minneapolis and do whatever else may come up.
OK, that unpleasant subject: Money.
Does anyone have a handle on how much the Reunion is going to cost? I know Laura has already incurred some out of pocket expenses for the rental and parking passes. As I said before, I think our parents can be exempt and the expenses shared amongst those of the 30 grandchildren who are coming. 4 Ferrara children (Rob, Katie, Elizabeth, and Angela) are definitely coming. What can we bring? Bringing a dish could prove difficult but we can surely pick something up.

Saved for posterity.
See ya there?????
I'll be there.
Hi. I had dinner with Laura the other night and she has been working hard planning the reunion. Keep your eyes open for a flyer with all the info in the next few weeks (she says). Robbie, sorry to hear about your truck being stolen. I had a truck stolen once and when it was recovered it was badly damaged and after being repaired it wasn't the same so we traded it in on a van. Hope you still can make the reunion. Carol
