Minneapolis Trip
I’m back home from the family reunion in Minneapolis. Thought it appropriate not to mention here when I was leaving, where I was going, etc, etc. I want to thank Susan, kittysays, Hyde, and Kiwifruit for so ably filling in while I was gone. The blog will remain open for those guests through the 4th of July weekend. I’m still recuperating. It was a great, great trip.
I’d also like to thank Hoot of Fish Fear Me for a great lunch at a superb venue right on the Mississippi River. I found that blog through Sheila O’Malley, noticed he was in Minneapolis, mentioned I was going to be in Minneapolis in a few weeks, and one thing led to another and we did lunch. The Mississippi up there is quite a bit lazier than the Mississippi I know in New Orleans. He’s the first non-family blogger I’ve met. We talked about blogging, fantasy football, our jobs, digital cameras, and about New Orleans and Minneapolis. In case you didn’t know, I am a big fan of Minneapolis. I just love the city. I stayed near the University of Minnesota, which is two minutes from downtown Minneapolis.
Here’s Hoot leaning against a 100 year old bridge. I’ll post a picture of the bridge this weekend. He has a picture of me, too, in full vacation regalia. I had warned him that I was taking jeans and shorts only on this trip. At the last moment, I packed some long-sleeved shirts. Good move but it wasn't enough. I went from 90's in the early morning in Bush to 40's at mid day in Minneapolis. I had to stop on the way to the reunion and buy a jacket.
We ate outside at Pracna. That’s it below. Nice inexpensive little place.

Blog of the day here.
Quote from said blog: “Well, this time around, it appears the theme is to conjure a poem about a pustule or numerous putules, and sign each poem with the last name "Pustule" so people can view your creative genius. I'm nothing if not a sucker for pustule poetry, so here are my submissions."

You did fail to mention after the reunion the temps went into the 80's where they're supposed to be... 90 forecast for today. Summer at last!
I was never hot outdoors there even when the temps reached the high 80's. I was, however, quite warm in some of the shops I went to. It was very hot in Macy's yesterday morning.
What a nice trip. I've never met another blogger, that would be fun. Off to check out Fish Fear Me. Great pics.
Well, if you're even in or around New Orleans, Meg, look me up.
Welcome back Rob. Glad to hear you had a good time. As you can see, we didn't leave any broken beer bottles or toilet paper lying around on your blog, as I had hoped. Fortunately, I think the only "clean up" might entail your finding a gallery other than "wild life" for that photo of JLo Ru.
Have a great week end and thanks.
That pictures stays. Thanks for helping out, Susan.
Rob-Hope you had a good flight home. I'm glad you had a good time here in Minneapolis and lunch was my pleasure.
Thanks for the kind words but that pic makes me look balding and getting old......wait, I am balding and getting old. That is a good camera :).
Finally remembered the CD for mine so I'll get that pic of you posted.
See ya.
The flight home was inconvenient but not so bad. We encountered thunderstorms in New Orleans and were diverted to Gulfport. We refueled there and took some crazy route way out over the Gulf of Mexico and came into the airport from the south. I was 90 minutes late which is better than dead by a longshot.
I don't know how people travel for a living. Here it is 24 hours later and I still don't have my feet under me.
