Hey, stumbled across your site, I hope you are doing well, although you sound as though you are farther north. I used to live in Alexandria. My grandfather lives, in Metairie, he was going to a friends house out west, mom said it was on the northshore. We haven't heard from him since Sunday, I hate seeing the news, since I've been there, and experienced a minor flood on my dorm floor last year, so I actually can slightly relate, but I hope you and our fellow Louisianans get through this. I can't wait until the city is rebuilt so I can go eat some beignets and doberge and sno-balls :)

I came across your site the night before land fall. I was searching the internet for a first hand account of what was to happen, as it happened. Your last post was just before landfall. I am hoping it is just because of a lack of electricity and/or internet access. As everyone else, we await your next post. It can be a short one, just to let us know you and your family is okay. We can wait for the long version at a later date. May God be with you and your family. Everyone in the New Orleans area is in our prayers. Damn, I never thought that I would worry about a total stranger.

Robbie - I hope everyone is OK. Tom Bye spoke with Sue Clayton today, & it sounds like you & Patsy, your Mom, & David are the ones nobody has heard from. I hope I'm not incorrectly stating anything, & most of all hope you are all safe.
Please let your cousins up north know if you are safe, & feel free to tell us what we can do to help. Perhaps our prayers will be the most useful of all. I'll try to follow up in case you need us to do anything. Our prayers & hopes are with all of you, & your neighbors.

Hi, I'm searching for info as many are. My elderly aunt opted to stay in Hammond. Do you have any idea how that City fared? Thanks for the info and all prays are pointed south.

There's been an update on Rob's family's blog:
"Mama is in Bush, LA with Robbie & Patsy and no one has been able to talk to them since Monday morning. We think they're okay, just no water or electricity."

She will probably post if and when they hear from Rob.

We just got word that Rob, Patsy & Aunt Ginnie are ok. Haven't heard anything else, just that they're ok. Maybe now my butterflies will settle down.

I'm happy to hear that Rob, Patsy, & Aunt Ginnie are OK. Any update about David?
We're praying that everyone is all right; let us know what us northerners can do to help.

I posted that question on the family blog a little while ago, no response yet. Dan, are you also checking that blog? There's more information there than here. The link is on the right side of the page. I put my comment on this blog as Rob has friends all over the world, trying to keep them updated.

That is great news!!! I, along with many others are glad to hear that. I will check back for the long version. I am sure Rob has many stories on his survival and the long trip out. Many prayers are answered.

My husband's uncle lives in Bush, and we haven't heard from him yet. How did the town fair out? If anyone knows, it would be a great relief to us. Please post as much info on the damage to Bush as possible. I know it didn't get the flooding, but did the houses withstand the wind?

I have heard by way of Richard & Catherine Bye of Minnesota that Ginny, Rob, Patsy, & David are all OK. Thank goodness. The next thing to do is extend any assistance we can to our family that has been devastated. I will attempt to access the family blog as suggested by cousin Laura C. of MN, but I'm new to blogging so I may not be proficient-enough to get it. I will try to reach Sue & Scott sometime over the weekend so we can get any updates + plan for assisting in any way possible. Please send prayers in quantity & often, for all of the people in Mississippi & Louisianna.
