Chocolate City

| | Comments (7)

This from Chris Rose of the New Orleans Times-Picayune about Mayor Nagin’s Chocolate City speech gave me a laugh as did this one from Lolis Eric Elie. I don't think subscription is required to access either one. That speech is bound to get him into the Hall of Fame. The mayor apologized the next day but I think the speech will live forever. It’s sorta like a 72pt headline on Page 1 of the newspaper retracted in 10pt on page 16 below the fold a few days later. He plays better at home than he does nationally. Well, he did until he made that speech. Stick a fork in him. He's done.

Speaking of attempts at public rehabilitation, we have ex-FEMA director, Michael Brown. Not sure what the goal is with those statements, though. Can't imagine anyone hiring him because he has a clue about crisis management.

In better New Orleans news, the Saints hired Sean Payton as head coach. Time will tell if it was a good choice but I like the selection. I prefer young guys with ideas to former head coaching retreads.

Quote of the Day
So what, he couldn't have just said chocolate marshmallow?

Blog of the day here.

Quote from said blog: "San Francisco offers a wealth of differing architectures that span the incredible history of the city - I could not set foot there with a camera and NOT satisfy my fascination with bits of buildings."

I had seen that link, Blue. I couldn't believe how fast they got it up. It was up the day after the speech. How do you register a domain, and get it up and running, and spread the word about it in 24 hours?

Susan and Carrie,

The mayor really stepped in a pile of well...chocolate...and the locals are having a ball with it. I doubt he can get past it. In his insensitivity and stupidity, he sounded entirely too sincere.

I recieved the link in email, the internet is fast when news needs to spread.

The web page may have been a part of another domain that was set up already, but the logo and design set up must have been done on the fly.

It is incredible.

Ray Nagin could be right in a twisted way...
maybe he's God's judgement on Blacks for voting for a fool.

I like checking out your Blog, it's very relaxing for me, don't know why, but it is.
