A Friday few (January 27, 2006)
Been a while since I linked one of my favorite newspapers: The New Zealand Herald. This one was too good not to. An up-market bordello named Whalers? I’m no businessman but I’m not sure that’s the image you want to conjure.
I have mixed feelings about this. There’s a ton of work to be done in the Greater New Orleans area. We don’t have nearly enough people back to do all of it. They’re here and they’re working. They’re living in their cars and in tents under overpasses. The work needs to get done and they are willing AND able to do it. The Latinos working where I am are extraordinarily industrious. On the other hand, they’re living in their cars and in tents under overpasses.
Chicago or New York? I guess it’s a lively debate if you live in one of those cities. To me, they’re nice places to visit. I prefer living in the country, though.

Now all I can think about is lunch."

Re the brothel on the beach - Coopers Beach is a lovely seaside town very popular with retirees - I'm wondering how much business it'll get!
I'm a bit suspect about the whole thing - I had to check it wasn't April the 1st after I read it :)
