Who sent this?

Postcard from New York - August 18, 2006 - Mystery postcard from a friend

Postcard from New York - August 18, 2006 - The "B" side.
The postal sticker is obnoxious to say the least. It covers the signature. However, at this time, I draw your attention to how it is addressed. Folks, the blog and I are not even remotely famous in Bush, LA and there is another guy by the same name who lives near here. We are not related and have never met. The miracle is not only how it got here but how fast it got here. Our mail service is haphazard since Hurricane Katrina.
The question for you my dear readers: Who sent it? Sherlock Holmes would figure it out in an instant. Some of you can't play.
To the mystery writer and to the postal employee responsible for figuring this out: Thanks ... made my night.

This is really remarkable. Maybe you're well-known at the P.O. ;-)
Amazing! I love the address. I wonder what your mail carrier thought when he delivered it.
Even though Holmes isn't actually with us, the presence of his powers of deduction remain with us always. Thanks to you know who.
Patsy couldn't wait for me to see it, Susan. The first thing I noticed is that I couldn't see who it was from. It was totally, totally unexpected. It was only then that I noticed who it was to.
Sherlock Holmes is alive and well and works at the Bush Post Office, Marie.
I'm assuming Bush is a very small town. That's amazing how it got to you at all!
There was a time you could send mail to Delmer Wells, Franklin, Ohio and I'd get it.
Delmer Wells, 45005 would have probably made it to me.
Of course, my mom worked at the post office ... and the only other Delmer around was my dad.
I thought those days were over. Your post card is certainly and example of the Postal Service at its finest. (I thought only the IRS had the ability to find us when given scant clues as to where we were.)
It is small population-wise, Andrea. I have no real figures but I would guess in the 1000-1200 range. It is a rather large rural area, though. Those 1000-1200 all have lots ranging from one acre up to maybe 7000 acres. CrabAppleLane is on 5 acres.
Absolutely right, delmer. They did a great job. You're probably right about the IRS. I might have said that about junk mail, too, but Hurricane Katrina did a serious number on 3rd class mail. Might be able to blame/credit the Bush post office for that, too. I only get a fraction of what I used to get in that department.
Oh, I just think that's cool as the dickens!
I'm tempted to send you a second card just to see if this was a freak coincidence or if you really can get regular mail like this.
That would be delightful, Emily.
You silly people. Bush ALWAYS knows where you are. MUA-HAHAHAHA!
And I always know where Bush is, Fly.
