A day off
New CrabAppleLane revelation: A day off with no plans is most excellent. I offer two from the backyard for a fun Friday.

CrabAppleLane Brown Thrasher - August 17, 2007
On an unrelated note, this is a movie I want to see. Not playing around here this weekend, though. Bummer.
Downloaded Movable Type 4.0 last night. Tried installing it in a newly created clean folder on my website and created a new database just to see if maybe the constant internal server errors we get here are related to my installation. Let’s just say that I now think the culprit is the server. The host is simply not allowing the site adequate resources to run the script files. Most likely, there is simply too much activity on my server. Moving the entire website to another host is a major undertaking but it looks like that is the best and only option. Any suggestions?
Yes, we have our eyes on Hurricane Dean as do some of our Florida friends. Category 3 now. Just die, Dean.

MT.4 huh. I really need to get up with the play - I'm still running 3.1. Don't seem to have the time to dedicate to upgrading (recalling how long it took me last time) but I really should get round to doing it.
I want to see that movie too. The TV trailers haven't made it terribly attractive, but the thing you referred us to in your blog was wonderful. I am very pleased with myself because after staring at the one scene for several minutes, waiting for something to happen, I moved my mouse a little bit and look out, the menu flipped up on the piano. I had never guessed that I had to do all the work of finding the preview. Fun stuff.
The spider picture and the brown thrasher picture are spectacular. I can't wait to hear the ending of the spider saga -- specifically, how the fellows make out.
Just made the jump to MT 4. I would highly recommend doing a fresh installation and importing all entries rather than trying to upgrade a current installation. Much cleaner.
I use Dreamhost, and it runs fairly well. It is a bit slow while publishing and stuff, but I don't ever get timeout errors.
That's what I did, too, josh. MT couldn't import the whole blog. I'm trying another server now and it is presenting its own set of problems.
Looks like maybe I have it now, Josh, but this is going to be a massive undertaking.
