Just some thoughts on a CrabAppleLane Sunday
Part Two of this big football weekend at CrabAppleLane gets underway in about an hour. The Saints have a tough customer in the Jacksonville Jaguars. I like their chances but don't know if my constitution can take it if it's another close game in the fourth quarter ... as it figures to be.
Part Three: It says here that the Colts will get by the Patriots in the most hyped regular season game of all time. Joseph Addai makes the difference.
Part One of this big weekend of football is done. The LSU Tigers are determined to give half of their considerable following heart failure. That was a tough win last night in Tuscaloosa. It took about 4 hours and there were many, many great plays made by both teams. Six of the nine teams the Tigers have played this year were ranked and playing well when LSU saw them. They won five and lost that one on the road in triple overtime. The schedule has been brutal. The SEC teams are intimately familiar with them and the game last night featured two teams that each had two weeks to prepare for the other. That Alabama’s head coach was LSU’s head coach a few years ago added more than a little to the intensity. So, pardon me if I dismiss anyone who thinks they should be winning by more.
Poor Nebraska. Poor Notre Dame. NOT. Those two programs richly deserve to know what it’s like to be overmatched and out manned but they were neither. They were just outplayed.
It’s yet another glorious CrabAppleLane Sunday but the image I leave today is one I took yesterday when I was out on the bike. It was taken about 500 feet from the CrabAppleLane doorstep on Hwy 1083. It can be quite picturesque out here sometimes. We truly love it. Enjoy.

Quote of the Day
I said maybe we should try running away from No. 72, because we sure weren’t getting him blocked.

Quote from said blog: "Oh well, what can I say? I could complain about the replay officials, but we really shouldn't have even been in that game."

That shot and the one in the previous post really do your area proud. Am I mistaken, or have the trees recovered pretty well from Katrina?
We had substantial tree loss from Katrina, Dave. It's not as noticeable from a distance during spring-summer-fall as it is up close or during the winter but you're right in that the trees have undergone a fairly remarkable recovery in a little over two years. Even more remarkable has been the recovery of the underbrush due to that tree loss. The north shore of Lake Pontchartrain is incredibly green these days.
Folks in Maryland are excited about Navy's 3OT win over that team from South Bend. The Midshipmen were even given the day off from school today to celebrate. Annapolis would be a fun place to be today.

Another beautiful picture! The sky is SO blue! I'm still learning about my digital camera, which seems to overexpose the sky more often than not.
Thanks, Lana. My camera loves to capture blue skies and sunsets. Those images have very little to do with anything I do and you'll see a lot of them here because of it. :)
