A slow week

Mike Celizic (My friend, Nightfly, calls him "Hat Guy") thinks the NFL should adopt a version of college football’s BCS. At the halfway point of the season, he is convinced there are only two teams in the league. They are, of course, the Patriots and the Colts. About the confusion of deciding who is best, he says:

But that’s what polls and computers are for — to sort those sorts of things out.

Computers are good for a lot of things but not that. Just play the games. A lot can happen in the next three months. Remember Michigan and Ohio State last year? Those were the two best teams according to the computers. And I wouldn't write off the NFC. They won 5 of 7 from the AFC last weekend and I think their landscape is going to change quite a bit between now and January. I don't think the NFC is as weak as some say. If my Saints get to the Super Bowl, I'd love for them to play the 18-0 Patriots.

Quote of the Day
We're in a dome, great kicking conditions, but when the fans are booing you it's just echoing everywhere. I mean -- people -- support him. You want him to make it, right? Don't boo. Cheer.
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Blog of the day here.

Quote from said blog: "Another Sunday looms, and for us Rams fans that means it's another week of `ifs' as we look forward to another chance to put that first tick mark on the other side of the ledger."

I hpe that event is postponed for a week. -Rob

Pitchforks and torches at Mike C's house tonight. Pass the word. :)

Seriously though, I'm with you. Just play the games.

I hate hate hate the Patriots. But that's because I'm a diehard Steelers fan.
