Just a lazy Thursday
Cool day here and not a cloud in the sky. Spent too large a portion of this glorious off day indoors. Plan to rectify that tomorrow. Enjoy the QOTD from Shane MacGowan, the BOTD from an amazing person, and maybe even some pics I took while I was out in the yard.

Quote of the Day
I could have been someone
Well so could anyone
You took my dreams from me
When I first found you
I kept them with me babe
I put them with my own
Can't make it all alone
I've built my dreams around you

Blog of the day here.
Quote from said blog: "I'm getting ready to say goodbye to Afghanistan."

I love when the pear trees start to turn. :)
Me, too. :)
Your BOTD was very special. It's good to read about another life, another place, another job which aren't anything like mine -- but it is so hard to imagine what it's like. I wonder what her job is, what agency. Do you know?
She's a human rights lawyer and a self-described "do-gooder". That's as much as I've gleaned in the couple of months of entries I've read.
Poured down rain here and then a windy cold front blew through. The rain caused horrendous traffic around DC. Took me 2.5 hours to get to a meeting yesterday. But we need the rain. Until reservoirs and aquifers are recharged I won't complain.

Awesome BOTD, Rob! Thanks for sharing such a gem.
I'm still & always envious of your pictures. I need to learn more about my own new camera. So far I can never get the sky to come out as anything more than an obnoxiously overexposed swath of white.
We've had beautiful weather here all week, Kem. A perfect vacation from the hassles of work, particularly the traffic. We usually get more than our share of rain here but it's been pretty dry for a while now.
You're quite welcome, Lana. My camera is a little over three years old and it's still way better than me. I'm still growing into it. Blue skies are my favorite backgrounds. If you like, just click on the image. It will take you to the FlickR site where it's stored. There, under "Additional Information", you'll see what kind of camera I use ... and below that is a link to "More Properties". That will give you all of the particulars of that shot. BTW, I don't always get it right. I sometimes wash it out, too. A couple of things I've had luck with: Aim away from the sun and, usually, the deepest blues tend to be underexposed.
Thanks for the info, Rob--I'll check it out.
