Just tids and bits
Roger Clemens issues a statement through his agent almost a week after the Mitchell Report was released. Naturally, he denies the accusations but I wonder how many consultants and lawyers he had to talk to first.
Marques Colston left out of the Pro Bowl. Not right. Hopefully, he'll show them why this week and next.
Amused to read that the Atlanta Falcons are courting Bill Parcells. After Bobby Petrino, Parcells is just what they need. Another quitter.

I wish they didn't vote on the Pro Bowl until after Week 17. It's not like these guys are going to have trouble booking a February flight to Hawai'i if they find out the week of the wild card games. I mean, Torry Holt of the snooze-inducing Rams? Is it 2000 again? Totally lame.
That is one odd thing to have on a flickr profile. Weirdness.
I don't know who Bill Parcells is, but I heard his name on the radio sports news a couple times recently and I thought he was someone who played sports in the 70s.
Oh - and how's this for a cruel irony... Parcells just pulled a pre-emptive Petrino. But since he pulled it by going to Miami, was that a pre-emptive Saban? Or a Saba-rino?
Won't someone stop this crazy Mobeus strip of betrayal and coaching?
nightfly,
Ditto on the voting after the season ... and take it away from the players. The only ones who can stop the betrayal/coaching chaos is the people who hire them. Unfortunately, for every Petrino, there's a Steinbrenner.
Andrea,
Odd as it might be, I love that quote.
Marie,
Parcells is a professional football coach who retired from the New York Giants, then came back and coached the New England Patriots and retired, New York Jets and retired, and Dallas Cowboys and retired. All in the last 12 years or so. Basically, he's a professional quitter.
I don't know why, but for some reason I never liked Parcells. I miss Bill Walsh (& the superfantabulous 49er team of the 80's.)
Never liked either of them much but I prefer Walsh to Parcells. Both had/have commitment issues.
