CrabAppleLane Sunday - February 10, 2008 Issue
Upgraded the CrabAppleLane blogs to Movable Type 4.1 yesterday. I have one lingering issue to resolve on this blog only. The others seem to be working fine.
I offer one from the CrabAppleLane backyard today. It is a glorious day here. Sunshine, blue skies, and temps in the 60s. Looks like we have a tenant. If you're wondering, we're renting it for a song. :)

CrabAppleLane Bluebird - February 10, 2008
Quote of the Day
I thought I saw her at the late night restaurant
She would have sent blue shivers down the wall
But she didn't grace our table
In fact, she wasn't there at all

Blog of the day here.
Quote from said blog: "The next post will be my 300th on this blog, and I will have been going for absolutely yonks."

Heh, "renting for a song". It's -10 here this morning, want to trade?
The hole seems a little big. Should be 1.5" to keep out starlings and other big predators. I heard a bluebird singing this morning when I was out and about. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'll have them this year. But last year was a bust and I'm not too optimistic.
K-
-10????
No to the trade, Dave. :)
It was cut with a 1½" hole cutter, Kem. The chickadees say that's too big. The bluebirds keep getting in. :) I don't have any starlings or English sparrows at CrabAppleLane ... and I really don't miss them.
Oh, and sorry for the "Awaiting owner approval" stuff. When I leave comments open, any commenter will get an "Internal Server Error" on this blog whenever they leave one. No idea why it's just this blog. Until I figure it out, this seemed to be the lesser of two evils.
Awesome on the tenant!
Aw a sweet bluebird. I have yet to meet one face to face. I did meet some lovely hairy woodpeckers this weekend.
Starlings(ack). I try to tell myself that they need food just like the rest but what a pain in the rear. Love that bluebird though. This weekend is the Great Backyard Bird Count (in case you wanted to know) I did it two years ago and counted seventy-something birds on a Sunday.
I recently realized that our trio of brown-headed nuthatches are working on a nesting cavity in a dead pine along our driveway. Considering that they're on Audubon's WatchList, I'm completely delighted. :)
"Renting it for a song". HAHA!
