Tuesday Morning Quarterback - Week 7, 2011

Earnest Graham tore up his Achilles tendon Sunday at Wembley Stadium. That field is still not suitable for an NFL game. If the NFL was as concerned about injuries as they say they are, they'd do something about the turf around the league. Injuries happen in the NFL. I think injuries where the guy isn't even touched can be reduced, though. Some of the fields in the NFL are absolutely horrendous. I'm looking at you, Chicago. I'm looking at you, Green Bay. I'm looking at you, Washington.

Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs for turning their brink-of-disaster season around. They did it with 3 consecutive wins including a ridiculously easy 28-0 shutout of the Raiders in Oakland Sunday. They're absolutely in the race in the AFC West.

Can I just say that I'm glad Tebow-mania is going on far, far away from New Orleans? His game hasn't changed at all since his Florida days. The college game caught up with him. The NFL game will, too ... only faster.

You will never get me to dispute that Aaron Rodgers is playing some amazing football. This weekend, he completed 24 of 30 passes for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns. His team had to hang on for dear life. It's a good thing for the Pack that he is playing nearly perfect football.

No, I didn't give the Jaguars any chance to beat the Ravens last night. Didn't watch it. I see that the Ravens didn't get a first down until midway through the 3rd quarter. The blueprint for beating the Ravens has been in place for a few years now. Slow down or stop Ray Rice and make Joe Flacco beat you. Sometimes, he does, but it's still the best way to beat them.

Arian Foster and Drew Brees killed my fantasy football team this week. Don't mind at all when Brees has a great game. In reality, though, it's my super dud running backs who are killing me.
